Hearts of Iron (Platinum Edition)

Hearts of Iron is the first ever World War II PC game of true Grand Strategic scope. The game map spans the entire world and allows players to take the War to any new front of their choosing. Any nation in the world is playable, but the game focuses on the epic struggle between the great alliances of the new world orders Fascism, Communism and Democracy. Hearts of Iron is developed by the team behind the award winning sales success Europa Universalis I and II and brings the same super detail to a modern day gaming experience.

Hearts of Iron - Platinum adds a new scenario, thousands of new events and an improved AI and diplomatic system to the original World War II real-time strategy game.

Hearts of Iron - Platinum
There's a breed of gamer who wants to conquer the world. They're the gamers who aren't content to slug around a Thompson on Wake Island as a single soldier, but would rather be at headquarters guiding a grand campaign to conquer the enemy. They're the gamers that know success in war is achieved not only through military might, but also through solid supply lines and diplomacy. If you're one of them, Hearts of Iron will become your new addiction.

Hearts of Iron - Platinum is a World War II simulator of overwhelming detail, and to the uninitiated, a learning chasm. You're charged with guiding a country's military, economy, technology, and diplomacy through the most tumultuous years of the 20th century. The world of Hearts of Iron is divided into three factions: the Allies, the Axis, and the Comintern. At the end of the game, whichever side has earned the most victory points by owning key parts of the world is declared the winner. Your choices aren't limited to the main players of World War II, however; you can pick any country.

While your ultimate goal is to get more victory points than your enemies, how you do it is up to you. Your short-term goals are largely influenced by what country you control and in what time period you want to start. The game has four different scenarios: The Road to War (1936-1948), Blitzkrieg (1939-1948), Awakening the Giant (after Pearl Harbor -1948), and Gotterdammerung (after D-Day - 1948). Playing as Japan in either the Road to War or Blitzkrieg scenarios, for instance, gives you the chance to truly cripple the American Pacific Fleet in Pearl Harbor. With multiple campaigns and a world of countries to play, Hearts of Iron has unlimited replay value.
